Open Question: Why are my ABS and Brake lights on.?

Ive replaced the fuse, checked the emergency brake, pulled the battery cables trying to reset it , tapped the master cylinder thinking maybe the float was stuck. Any thoughts , Im fresh outa ideas.Thanks, Brian.

Resolved Question: skipping and jumping along with spark plugs!?

Ok we bought the Expedition used but the first year it ran great with just the basic care, about halfway through the second year till now. (we are going into the 3rd year of having it) The problems started with it skipping, we took it down to have it put on the machine and talked to the place we bought it from and they too put it on the machine and nothing came back. Everyone we went to (in total we put it on 4 different machines at 4 different garages) kept saying it is the spark plugs it has got to be them. So I went ahead dished out after being told at 3 of the garages that usually only 2 go out at a time. So I got 3 spark plugs and the pack thingys that go with it and we had a place put them on, and only 2 had gone out but we went ahead and had him pick the one that "looked" the worse and replace that one. So for about 4 weeks the darn thing ran GREAT! Then the skipping started again not as bad as before but it was skipping none the less, next the air condition started acting silly what I mean by that is that the air in the back worked fine but in the front the panels stopped working and shot the icy air through the dash or floor board. Slowly the skipping has gotten worse till now I will be driving and it will start skipping I will take my foot off the gas then nice of push it back on difficult enough to jump the RPM's up to about 3 or 4 and the skipping goes away till I even out at a certain speed and then it will skip again. The skipping also gets WAY worse when going up hill and even thinking of attempting to go over the mtns close our home is laughable!! Then this morning (thankfully) after dropping off my son I came back out to receive in my car (he is in 5k so very young still walking him into school)and went to crank but it wouldn't crank the first time so I let it sit for a min and tried again and it barely started up but at least it did. As I am pulling out of the parking lot the radio just totally dies, and the engine is running really silent like a creepy silent. After getting about halfway home the radio turns on for about 5min then goes totally dead again. I look at the dash and this light that is (ABS) (I think?) comes on and I am going WTF NOW!! After getting home today I just park the darn thing and figure that the nice money I have been saving to buy a home is now going to my stupid car! If anyone could help me in figuring out what is wrong with this darn thing it would be much appreciated. THANK YOU! Things that have been replaced: Battery spark plugs brakes power packs fuse box (not sure what that is dad worked on it) I don't know cars nor do I work on them so to me the advice of the mechanic is what I go on. If said mechanic ends up being shifty or a crook I can't help that. What I was told is that replacing the bad spark plugs along with there power packs would take care of the problem. And that usually only 2 spark plugs go out at a time.

Open Question: I caused an accident , but it was NOT my fault!?

Today while taking a right turn , i gave the right indicator but as soon as I turned right a boy riding a scooter came from the right but it was too tardy for me to apply the brakes and the front right portion of the car touched his scooter and he lost balance and he fell down. He did not receive hurt in any way leaving apart minor scratches n every.... He was riding at a very high speed and the road was slippery and he did not even have a proper registration number behind his vehicle It was not my mistake but i am emotionally shaken! Open Question: do my brake pads need replacing?

Resolved Question: How do i stop at a stop light on a motorcycle?

Ok! I've had a few bikes over the past few years, but I've never thought of what might be the best way to cease at a cease light. Here's what I do, and then you can tell me if it's a good or bad idea. When i know I have to cease ahead, I squeeze the clutch lever every the way in and let my bike start to coast. i slowly start to brake as I shift slowly down through the gears. By the time i receive to the cease light or cease sign, i'm still coasting with the clutch every the way in, and i'm in first gear. I cease completely, touch my left foot down, wait, then take off. If it's a red light and i'll be there for a while, I'll hop up into neutral. Mainly, I'm just interested in knowing if pulling the clutch every the way in is essentially the same thing as putting it into neutral. might keep a bit of gas, might keep wear on the engine? Let me know what you think.

Open Question: How can I determine the value of our 1977 Dodge Motorhome?

It is a 1977 Dodge Mayflower HSCR body type, 19 foot class C. New belts, hoses, brake system, radiator refurbished, new alternator, and lots of other engine work done. Runs great. Has a new paint job (exterior and interior), flat screen and cd player added, and SUV third row seating installed (so car seats can be installed). Open Question: how to brake lease for apartment i just moved in?

4 months ago moved into a nice apartment (what seemed at first) Then i found out there is a brothel right next door to me. Upstairs lives some drug dealer and it sounds like they are moving furniture every day long. Open Question: Doing a drumb brake job, should brakes stick on before bleeding?

I have a 1951 gmc 3/4 ton. it's on every jack stands right now and a filled it up with brake fluid and pumped the brakes but I have not bleed the brakes and every but one wheel(that wheel has a crazy strong spring on it) sticks with the brakes on, is this normal to have before bleeding? My front drums would spin nice and free and now they stick, and the back left the one w/o the strong spring sticks as well. I honed every of them. It's actually underneath the floor of the cab as it's so old it also dose not have power brakes... I'm using the correct brake fluid (dot 3)

Open Question: Steering wheel shaking?

I started having my steering wheel shake at highway speeds over 65mph. Had my tires balance and aligned. Still shaking so I had them re-balance them five days later and still. I took to a store and they had it every day and said they didn't find a problem. They acknowledged the shimmy but had no idea what it could be. I took it to another store (brake) and they told me to got to a tire store because I have after market tires (20's) and might need spacers. That was not the problem either. The tire store put my back tires on the front due to a bent rim. I still have the shimmy but now when I'm on the highway and steer around a bend it stops for awhile until the next bend. It's driving me crazy now, I use to like driving my truck and now I just receive frustrated. The tire store said I MIGHT need to receive new tires because they claim it's a bad brand. I only had the tires for two years and even they say I have a lot of tread on them. Had rotors, tie rod, wheel bearings and everything checked and was told nothing loose. OMG!

Open Question: Who comes up with a price manual for getting new brakes put on your vehicle?

Seriously, if this not price gouging than what is? Front and back brakes total: $42. Took less than an hour to put every of them on. I called three different garages for the same work on my vehicle and told them I wanted the same type of brakes. The prices varied from $280 - $450. What a joke. With every new rotors and brakes garage wanted $900. The parts cost me $175. Done in less than two hours and that because could not receive a rotor off. I steer a Honda CRV and I know every vehicles are not the same. I just do not understand how this can go on. I am very glad I can do this work by myself and I can help others in this service.

Open Question: Makeup help for oily skin?

I have used many liquid foundations and they only made my face brake out in pimples and make my skin look very shiny as i have very oily skin, so then i switched to using "Rimmel london, stay matte pressed powder" and it works fairly well only problem is in several hours it will like turn an orangy color and like 'cake' up on my face and looks like i have orange spots every over my face and my skin will look shiny again and to fix that i have to wash it every off and re apply it. Question is did anyone else have a problem like this and if so what nice of foundation/ powder did you use that works very well for coverage and is good with very oily skin? sorry for making it long. thanks in advance

Front Brake Pads and Rotors 03 Corolla? I know these Asian cars can receive tricky but is it the same steps to any car? (take off wheel remove 2 10mm caliper bolts,remove pads then rotor should slide off , put new on , push brake piston back with a durty old c-clamp and old brake pad, then put new pads put everything and pump brakes) or is there some tricks I should look for?

Open Question: 1996 Lexus ls400 wanders left and right and the suspension feels loose when braking at low and high speeds but?

it goes straight on the road, took it to a big National Tire Chain and did an oil change and got a free alignment and brake inspection and they told me its a rear wheel bearing. Would this cause every these ailments, the car feels like it has it wants to detach itself from the chassis BTW, thats the rear that feels this way, front seems fine.

Open Question: what is wrong with my brakes?

my anti lock brake and my emergency brake is on 24/7. the service lights dont flash or anything, they just stay on every the time. the brake fluid is full and i dont have a problem with the brakes when i cease. why could these lights be on? 93 chevy suburban

Open Question: better to drive with 1 foot or 2?

ok im 16 and i steer a 1971 dodge b300 van and i keep getting yelled at for driving woth 2 feet. ppl say in an emergency u need to be able to slam the brakes and when u use 2 feet ur most likely gonna hit gas and brake at the same time which isnt good for that situation(or any situation for that matter) but my feet are to tiny to use 1 foot for gas and brake.(no clutch in my van) any tips to either help me change to 1 foot driving or tips for 2foot driving????????

Open Question: How do I do a head & block job on my 94 accord?

has black residue on the bumper, over the muffler. not much power when starting from cease. but i can steer on free at 80mph no problem with icy AC. my mechanic told me that it has low compression on 2 out of 4 cylinders and needs at least a head job and possibly need to take out the block to do something. He told me it'll cost me anywhere between $1,500 to $3,000. is there a detailed step-by-step instruction on how to do this myself? I've done oil change, changed brakes and replaced radiator on my car but that's about every the skill i have. thanks alot! chris....you seem you know what you are doing...can i hire you? also what's the best way to become a professional mechanic like yourself?
